Agricultural Property
The estate’s let land portfolio consists of a number of residential farms consisting of a farmhouse, farmyard and farmland.
There are also several short -and long-term tenancy agreements comprising of bare land only.
In most cases the let land is permanent pasture and has been in the hands of the same farming families for many years. The tenants, like many farmers in the area produce lamb and beef and are increasingly becoming involved in positive environmental management under schemes such as Tir Gofal. This management means a large number of trees and hedges are being planted, riverside banks fenced out, dry stone walls repaired, footpaths opened and pollution measures being put in place. All of this work is contributing towards an environmentally and economically vibrant estate that is becoming increasingly open to the general public.
