A cheque for £500 was recently presented by Lord Newborough, from Rhug Estate, to Betsi Vanda Roberts, who has cerebral palsy.
Betsi, 3, whose parents Sion and Sarah Roberts need to raise £50,000, to help fund a life changing SDR spinal operation, through Tree of Hope, which will hopefully help Betsi sit up, stand and walk independently.
Betsi, from Pen-y-Ffordd near Chester, was born with cerebral palsy and has undergone intensive physiotherapy at Bobath, which her family, friends and the local community raised over £8,000 for in 2015.
Sarah Roberts, Betsi’s mum, says the operation could possibly give Besti a new lease of freedom. Sarah said: “We are hopeful that if Betsi is a suitable candidate for surgery it will give her a new lease of life and enable her to do the things she so desperately wants to do with her peers. We are overwhelmed with the generosity and support people have shown us and we can’t thank everybody enough.”
Lord Newborough, said: “The fact that we are able to help Betsi, whose father Sion used to work on the farm, is great. We look to help as many local charities as we can to give back to the community and it’ll be great to hopefully see Betsi do the things we all take for granted.”
