Rhug Estate, the award-winning organic farm estate, is proud to announce the launch of the Rhug Charitable Trust. This new initiative builds on the Estate’s long-standing commitment to sustainability, healthy eating, and connecting people with the natural world.
The Rhug Charitable Trust aims to:
- Support charities and organisations working on important issues in our community and across the UK.
- Advance education by providing opportunities for learning about a variety of subjects, including science, geography, and sustainable food production.
- Promote healthy eating through education and by sharing knowledge about the benefits of organic farming.
- Offer access to the countryside for disadvantaged children and those who may not otherwise have the opportunity to experience nature.
Rhug Estate has a rich history of welcoming visitors. In 2023 alone, over 1,500 schoolchildren enjoyed educational trips to the 12,500-acre estate. The Estate also welcomes learners and representatives from colleges, universities, and a variety of other groups.
Lord Newborough, owner of Rhug Estate, is excited about the potential of the Rhug Charitable Trust. “We’ve always believed in the importance of educating and informing people about sustainable practices and healthy eating,” he said. “The Rhug Charitable Trust will allow us to expand our outreach and offer these experiences to even more people.”
The Rhug Charitable Trust has ambitious plans for the future, with a number of exciting initiatives already in development. We look forward to sharing more details in the coming months.
