Conwy chocolatiers, Baravelli’s, have created a bespoke chocolate Bison, on behalf of Rhug Estate, which will be featured in a Channel 5 programme next year. Rhug Estate Farm Shop customers now have the opportunity to win the hand-crafted unique milk chocolate figure, worth £1,000 in time for Christmas.
Husband and wife team Emma and Mark Baravelli have been hand crafting delicious chocolate for over ten years and have been recognised as crafting something very special with a tally of over 40 prestigious food awards. They have created unique chocolate designs for many high-profile clients.
Originally trained in fashion design, Emma’s artistic talents are evident in each and every chocolate that she creates. Mark brings an engineering background to the chocolate preparation. He has been instrumental in creating their ‘Bean to Bar’ process and they remain one of only a handful of bean to bar artisan chocolatiers in the UK.
Baravelli’s created the Bison statue to celebrate Lord Newborough’s 70th birthday. Channel 5 filmed the chocolatiers creating the masterpiece and filmed Lord Newborough receiving the magnificent creation. When he received the chocolate masterpiece Lord Newborough said he wanted to raffle the work of edible art so local charities could receive donations.
Rhug Estate Managing Director, Graham Webster, said, “Baravelli’s chocolates are unique in the UK. No one else supplies such hand-crafted products. The response to the Baravelli’s products we stock in our Farm Shop has been phenomenal. We were delighted when they approached us with the idea of making a bespoke Bison for Lord Newborough’s birthday and it would be featured on Channel 5.”
Emma Baravelli said, “We are a small local, north Wales firm. We’re so grateful to Rhug Estate for all their support. We are very excited to be featured in a television series which gives an insight into our work.”
The hand-crafted chocolate bison, worth over £1,000, will be on display in the Farm Shop until Sunday, 22 December 2019. Customers can win the statue by buying a raffle ticket in store. All proceeds from the raffle will go towards Air Ambulance and Hope House children’s hospice.
