The WOR Off-Road Motorcycline event is one of the highlights of the Rhug Spring calander with hundereds of eager participants coming to the beautiful Dee Valley for two days of racing. The Saturday saw the great practice run where all participants get to grips with the track and decide on the best way forward for the racing on the Sunday.
The format of the day was simple, 2 one hour races, individually scored and then the results collated to make the winners in each class. Set out on a 4.5 mile track of fields, woods and farmland the serious downpour from Saturday left the place very muddy to say the least, but because of the neat format and 1 hour races, we can only imagine it was fun and challenging to ride in.
Colin Jones topped the over 50’s courtesy of a tie splitting last race win over our very own farm manager, Gareth Jones. Gareth won race one leaving Colin and Gareth Lloyd in his wake but race two went the other way with Lloyd getting in on the sharp end of results. Gareth Jones ending up Runner up overall with CF Racing Boss, Gareth Lloyd in the 3rd spot.
We are all extremely proud of Gareth and a little bit in awe of his many talents…. he did tear a ligament in his leg playing table tennis once but we can forget all about that after this weekend’s performance!
