Tucked away in the folds of the Denbighshire hills, premium organic field-to-fork farm Rhug Estate, owned and run by Lord Newborough, is bringing an array of new offerings from its 12,500 acres this Spring.

St David’s Day

Children in shawls and black chimney hats, bright green leeks and yellow daffodils turned into accessories – St David’s Day is a truly colourful affair in Wales.  With a joyous air of pride among local folk, all in honour of Dewi Sant, Rhug Estate will be joining the celebrations with a range of Welsh specials on offer at Michelin-recognised bistro, Bison Grill – and there will be Welsh cakes aplenty!

Mother’s Day

Spoil mum this Mother’s Day by whisking her away to the Bison Grill where a special three-course Mother’s Day menu is available from 11.30am on Sunday 6th March.  Choose from a selection of sumptuous starters including Rhug organic lamb, barley and root vegetable terrine; smoked salmon served with salt baked beetroot and horseradish pannacotta or a warming soup of the day served with fresh bread.  For mains, indulge your mum with one of three organic roast dinners and round it off with a decadent dessert of white chocolate and cardamom crème brulee or vanilla pannacotta topped with raspberry jelly.  Prices start from £13.95 for a main, £16.95 for two courses and £19.95 for three courses.

Mother’s Day isn’t complete without a thoughtful gift. Rhug Estate Farm Shop has a selection of treasures that will make for the perfect present to show your mum what she really means. With a range of new Natural Spa beauty products, luxury spa treatments and decadent treats, mum can take some much-needed time out to relax, pamper herself and replenish.

British Pie Week

That indisputable staple of British cuisine, the not-so-humble pie, gets a unique makeover at Rhug Estate where it is packed to the roof of its golden lid with one of the rarer varieties of animal on British soil: the bison. Head to The Deli during British Pie Week (7-13 March) to savour this lean, hearty red meat in true British fashion.

Vernal Menu

The Bison Grill’s two local talents in the kitchen, Jonathan Barkley and Elliot Knox, have had great amounts of fun concocting a seriously creative new menu for Spring. Highlights include confit of chicken risotto with chorizo and pea shoots; salt and pepper glazed belly pork; and Jamaican ginger cake.  Pop in for a hearty breakfast, relaxing lunch or quick bite to eat whilst enjoying the picturesque scenery of Denbighshire.

Dinner in the slow-lane

Every fast lifestyle is best nourished with slow, organic food and what better place to fulfil this nourishment than Rhug Estate’s Butchers Counter. Offering a broad range of prepared meats and meals – including beef and pork meatballs in Italian pepper and olive sauce and lime and chilli chicken stir fry – Rhug Estate’s newest offering is sure to have something to tantalise the whole family’s taste buds in a matter of minutes.
