Hope House Hospice in Oswestry were thrilled when Lord Newborough delivered cakes, bread, milk and eggs earlier this week. Lord Newborough wanted to find a good home for surplus stock due to customers cancelling their orders or closing down.

Following Government advice Rhug Estate also had to shut its Bistro and Takeaway to customers earlier this week. Owner, Lord Newborough, however, insists he will keep the Farm Shop and Drive Thru open for as long as he possibly can to supply local customers with their daily essentials and key workers with a drive thru service.

Lord Newborough said, “I am thrilled that we found a good cause to donate this food to. Something positive has come out of customers cancelling their orders or closing down.”

Rhug Estate is also helping those who are following government orders to stay at home by continuing its online shop and home delivery service for as long as it possibly can. As well as the farm’s award winning range of organic meat, online customers can also order farm shop essentials on the website: www.rhug.co.uk/shop.

Lord Newborough added, “I would like to thank all our customers for their kind words and support. We appreciate their loyalty. We are also grateful to visitors in our Farm Shop for adhering to the four customers at a time policy and socially distancing themselves from the other shoppers to keep everyone safe. We are looking forward to everything going back to normal and welcoming visitors back to our Bistro and Takeaway. Please take care everyone.”
