Sicily’s warm, dry climate is ideal for organic cultivation and most vineyards already use very little spraying against diseases and pests. So the island is a great source of good, affordable organic wines. The Catarratto grapes are sourced from the north-west corner of Sicily – at Calatafimi, between Marsala and Palermo. The organic wine is bright, with appealing aromas of citrus and fennel. The palate is fresh and incisive with more citrus notes, hints of ripe stone fruit and crisp acidity. Fabulous with seafood and light, summery risottos.
