Exciting new chapter in relationship between Rhug Estate and Partridges, London

Rhug Estate products have been stocked by Partridges of London for many years. Partridges opened its doors in Sloane Street, Chelsea, in 1972 and quickly gained a reputation for selling the best quality food from British producers. In 1994 it was awarded its Royal Warrant by Appointment to Her Majesty The Queen.

Lord Newborough, announced as the winner of NFU Cymru Clwyd Branch’s Dafydd Jones Memorial Award

Lord Newborough, owner of Rhug Estate near Corwen, has been announced as the winner of NFU Cymru Clwyd Branch’s Dafydd Jones Memorial Award.

The Award winner was announced last night at the NFU Cymru Clwyd County Conference which was held virtually. The Award Cup is presented annually to the NFU Cymru Clwyd member who has made a great contribution and a lasting, positive impact on agriculture in the county.

Making Homes for Birds

Two years ago, Lord Newborough arranged for 40 nestboxes to be put up in the grounds around Rhug Hall and this has proved to be a very successful initiative with a high level of occupancy. Recently, the opportunity was taken to clean out the old nests which were mostly of Blue Tits and Great Tits but there were three boxes occupied by Pied Flycatchers.

Rhug Estate welcomes local MP to see how Covid19 has affected the business

Rhug Estate welcomed the MP for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes, to visit the farm shop recently, to discuss Covid19 and explain to him the effect the pandemic has had on the business so far.

Lord Newborough, owner of Rhug Estate, showed Simon Baynes MP, around the business and explained the devastating effect the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns were having.
