Rhug Estate is pleased to share an important update regarding the temporary Avian Influenza (bird flu) restrictions on our site. Following updated advice from veterinary authorities, the Farm Walk is now open again.

The precautionary measures introduced after a local case of Avian Influenza have now been reviewed, allowing us to safely reopen parts of the Estate to visitors.

The health and welfare of our livestock remain our top priority. We continue to work closely with local and national veterinary teams to ensure robust biosecurity measures are in place, including strict hygiene protocols, enhanced monitoring of our flocks, and immediate reporting of any concerns to the Animal and Plant Health Agency.

We’d like to thank our visitors and local community for their patience and understanding during the temporary closure. Remaining vigilant is essential in helping prevent the spread of Avian Influenza across the region.

We will continue to provide updates should the situation change. For further information on Avian Influenza and the latest guidance, please refer to the UK Government and Animal and Plant Health Agency websites.
